Place where the project was set is quite a dull space, predestined to be a commercial unit, located in the block of flats from the 1990s. The building is coated with styrofoam and cheap plaster, filled with PVC window frames.

Vertical elements of the interior are crossed by shelves levitating at different heights. The design refers to Japanese raw design. We used a multitude of almost identical elements forming a complex whole. All this was created by very simple means and materials.

Ramen is one of the most popular dishes in Japan. Its a kind of broth with noodles and additives. Ramen bars are available worldwide. In Warsaw’s Vegan Ramen Shop, beside three varies of juicy broth one can get various products imported from Japan. The concept, from the very beginning focused on the long bar for clients, designed as a follow-up to typical japanese street food bars. There is also some place for the presentation of japanese products. Inspired by the unique character of japanese cities and bamboo forests, the area was arranged with vertical pipes, creating abstract impression.

The interior’s structure of ‘levitating shelves’ is a place to eat and to expose the bar shop’s goods. The structure separates kitchen from the dining area and divides it into smaller parts, encouraging the place’s guests to wander around it. High ceiling enabled the shelves to reach very high, creating an atmosphere of a bamboo forest. Shelves are made of plywood, pipes are steel-made, while the thhe floor is lined with gray porcelain tiles.

Securing the cleanliness of the location, washable paint in neutral color has been used. Shelves expose goods – japanese gadgets, Manga comics, food products and plants such as bonsai trees, which make the interior natural. The area is enlighted by bulbs on wires. On the ground floor, beside dining area , small kitchen and bar, there is also a toilet and dishwashing area. Guest toilets are located on the -1 level. Bar enterance is accented with neon light sign. During summer, the bar is equipped with garden.
